Concert on Saturday, 17th October in the Chapel presented by the Choir who went to Rome to take part in the celebrations to mark the 400th anniversary of Mary Ward.
This concert brought to a close the historic events in which the choir participated in Rome the week before. Parents and friends were invited to hear the repertoire that was sung throughout the week in many of the prestigious buildings and public areas of the Eternal City.
Fr. Andrew kindly blessed the new choir robes at the beginning of the concert; the concert was also recorded in view to producing some CD`s at a later date.
The audience was absolutely thrilled with the emotionally-charged evening and the exciting repertoire that the choir had prepared. There was a standing ovation!
It was a particularly nostalgic evening for five of the choristers who had left the Upper Sixth in the summer and who had returned in order to sing in Rome. It was the last time that they would be singing together in school. Tears flowed!
Miss Radford would like to thank everyone so very much for playing a part in making this pilgrimage to Rome become a realisation – the memories will live on for ever – “We were there!”
