Admissions: Entry Procedure
St Mary’s is an academic school with a mixed ability entry capable of accessing the curriculum on offer.
Admission at 11+, 12+ 13+ (Year 7, 8, 9)
Admission to the school is by means of the school's own entrance examination, an interview, previous school reports and a testimonial from the previous school. Entry from Prep Schools is supported by Common Entrance results if applicable.
Admission at 14+ (Year 10) and Sixth Form
Admission is by means of an interview, testimonial and full academic report from the previous school, including GCSE predictions if the application is for Sixth Form entry.
Applicants of all ages from overseas for whom English is not their first language will need to have an assessment of their verbal and written English
Throughout our entry process we want to see your daughter’s natural potential and therefore the examinations are only a part of assessment prior to a place being offered.
The completion of a registration form and the payment of the registration fee do not guarantee a place, but will ensure that the appropriate documentation for subsequent stages in the admissions procedure is dispatched in good time.
