Thorpe ParkOn Sunday the second Thorpe Park trip was lucky enough to have weather which favoured our girls. It rained on the way there and on the way back but stopped as they got off the coach. This meant that there were not as many people at the park as might have been and as this week Stealth was open, girls got to ride on that enormous Roller Coaster without enormous queues!
Enjoying CrêpesDuring the afternoon, any girls left in school were shown how to make Crêpes French style by Estelle and Mrs Holman in the Resource room for an hour or so.
At the same time, the UIV select few went to Brenscombe High Ropes Course (see the videos ) where a few challenges were made and achieved. I will never forget seeing Lucy C and Clare, Lucy W and Fernanda and Gilly and Anna, in pairs, at the top of that 15 metre pole, on a platform measuring about half a metre square, jumping off to grab a trapeze about 2 metres from the platform! The girls were amazing and I am sure they will all feel very pleased with themselves! I was very proud. Fernanda and Lucy C were phenomenal on the Rings – both managing about 5 rings each, about 15 metres high in the air! Olly and Luc, who came with Mr Raffray and I to the course, were impressive in the heights they reached. Well done to everyone who achieved over and above what they had expected!
