Netball Tournaments Success
We have had some really excellent results this week, starting with the U14 and U16 netball tournaments.
The U16s played amazingly throughout the entire tournament, winning every game against schools such as Gillingham, Sturminster and Sherborne Girls. They then progressed into the final to beat Bryanston 7-4. Well done everyone.
The U14s also played excellently to win all their matches, progressing to the final where they narrowly lost 7-6 to Bryanston. Both teams now qualify for the county finals, the U16s on Tuesday and the U14s after half term.
On Thursday, the U13s played Warminster; they tried really hard but unfortunately lost 12-3. The 1st also played hockey against Gillingham: there was excellent passing and many attempts at goal. Unfortunately, none of them made it into the net and the final score was 1-0 to Gillingham.
On Saturday, the U13s and the U14s played hockey against Warminster. The U13s played with great enthusiasm, sadly losing 3-0, and the U14s played superbly, winning 5-0.
The U12s played in a netball tournament against Hanford. The team improved hugely throughout the tournament. They were placed 6th overall.
Well done to Clare, Sophie and Rosie, who got through to the U14 county team.
The Senior & U16 teams competed against Clayesmore in a swimming gala. There were some fantastic swims within each team, with very close races, particularly in the U16 competition.
The Senior team lost 49-59 overall and the U16 team, made up of mainly U14 swimmers, won 55-54. Well done to all those who swam and special mention to the timekeepers who were also a great help on Saturday.
Good luck to the U14s and U16s in their county finals. Could the U16 captain come up and receive their shield?
