We couldn't have asked for a better day on Saturday 9th February for our third annual Music Festival for State Primary Schools. Children attended from The Abbey Primary, Shaftesbury Primary, St Nicholas Primary, Child Okeford and St Andrew's, Fontmell Magna.

The day started with a string workshop in Campion Hall with Mrs Palmer and a wind band workshop in the Drama Studio with Mrs Pugh before we joined together to hear performances from each of the four schools. We were treated to a variety of ensembles and solos including recorder consorts, bands, piano solos and even a hand bell group from The Abbey performing a piece called 'The Bells of St Mary's'!

After a well deserved St Mary's lunch, the choirs of The Abbey and Shaftesbury Primaries gathered in Campion Hall for a choral warm up taken by Miss Radford before they each performed for us. It was a very successful day and many of the children who came last year said that they had really looked forward to coming back this year, as indeed we look forward to hearing their wonderful performances.
