Being one of the biggest houses in the school, Givi never has a dull moment. With music coming from all the rooms in the house and the entire lower sixth gathering in slum alley for a chat, the vast number of girls that Mrs Andow, Mrs Sealy and Mrs Hannam have to look after is never forgotten!

Overlooking the front lawn, Givi has always been lucky with its position. Having one of the most beautiful views in the school just outside your bedroom window is only one advantage of the house.

House bonding time adds to the great atmosphere that is always noticeable. This includes Mrs Andow’s hot chocolate evenings, with the famous chocolate milk, and the lower sixth using up massive amounts of eggs by making enough pancakes to feed the entire school - ending with the upper four vs. Mrs Sealy in an arm wresting competition!

Givi would not be the same either without its wonderful kitchen, where there is always someone making toast and trying to salvage the last bit of chocolate spread from the huge, empty tub that Mrs Hannam bought new that evening.

Happy hours are just one more excuse for the whole house to get together and enjoy a film with popcorn, sweets and lots more unhealthy food!

Although Givi is privileged to have the Director of Sport, Miss Boyer, as a member of our house, we are not the sportiest of houses; however, we pride ourselves on the amount of teamwork shown at inter-house netball and tennis matches. There is always an atmosphere of happiness and fun, even when we come fourth … again!

Whatever the week has thrown at you, there is always a time to relax on Thursday evenings when the girls can come together at ten o’clock prayers, with candles and reflections allowing you to wind down before the weekend.

If you can’t wait till Thursday for a relaxing time, our two fantastic house assistants are always there to talk … and offer a daily ration of sweets and biscuits - if Anni has left any in the tin, that is!
